Milwaukee Bucks Career Day was a blast for these #HSDGoTigers!
Mrs. Gibbons' Marketing students attended the Milwaukee Bucks Career Day event where they met with and learned from Bucks executives about what happens behind the scenes of a sports organization.
The students were given an extensive tour of the Fi-Serv Forum stadium facility and explanations of the design and intent of the new stadium's facilities and entertainment events.
The day concluded with the capstone basketball game watching the Bucks in action against the Chicago Bulls, a number of activities celebrating military veterans, and one of our very own Tiger basketball players got to shoot a free throw on the Milwaukee Bucks court!
What an action-packed day that ended in an exciting Bucks victory over the Chicago Bulls!

Last month, students in grades 6-8 participated in the Math Counts school competition!

Students in US History 9 recently participated in a "Land Rush" activity to better understand various impacts the Homestead Act of 1862 had on America.
This activity was modeled after the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1889. After filing a claim, students raced around the school to find their 160 acre plot of land. Three lucky students were "sooners", or individuals who illegally entered the territory before the beginning of the race and three other students were speculators or individuals who could grab several pieces of land and choose the best plot.
Like the real land rush, not everyone who participated received a plot of land. Those that didn't find land had to buy it from the speculator. Students then used their piece of land to work through a variety of tasks to complete the activity! #HSDGoTigers
