A $10,000 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation 2019 Initiative Scholarship was presented to Jaline Attignol, a senior from Hillsboro High School, at a recognition luncheon hosted by Herb Kohl, Wisconsin philanthropist and businessman.
The Herb Kohl Initiative Scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated a high level of motivation, have shown strong promise for achieving success in college and beyond, and have overcome significant personal obstacles or adversity.
The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation has been recognizing educational excellence since 1990 by annually awarding scholarships to 200 graduating high school students throughout Wisconsin. Since it was established in 1990, the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation has awarded $17.8 million to Wisconsin students, teachers, principals, and schools!

Students at the elementary school had an assembly today from The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!
They learned about blood cancers and have joined the hero squad to help raise money for cancer patients through a program called Pennies for Patients.
Some students volunteered to be blood celks, platelets and cancer cells. #HSDGoTigers #TigerProud

Dane, Realeigh and Oakley attended the Wisconsin State Youth Art Month Celebration with Ms.Scharfenberg!
They were able to hear Governor Evers speak, explore the capitol, see 600 pieces of student art from around Wisconsin and go to the children’s museum, what a day!

Attention ALL middle school track athletes - please read the following in regards to practice and meets!
Monday, April 8, is the first day of practice!
On days that it is not raining, you will meet outside on the track, start with a two lap warm up then 8th grade students will lead stretching.
Practices will be held Monday through Thursday from 3:40 until 5:00PM. If you have to leave early on Wednesdays, or any other day, please let your coach know.
Listed below is the typical order of events. They normally start around 4:00/4:15 PM with field events being first followed by running events.
Field events include shot-put, discus, high jump, long jump, and the triple jump.
Running events include 100 (110) Meter High Hurdles, 100 Meter Dash, 4 x 200 Meter Relay, 1600 Meter Run, 4 x 100 Meter Relay, 400 Meter Dash, 800 Meter Run, 200 Meter Dash, and 4 x 400 Meter Relay.
We have 4 dates set for the season. We will be facing Necedah on Friday, April 26, Kickapoo on Monday, April 29, Royall on Tuesday, May 7, and Cashton on Saturday, May 11. The bus will leave Hillsboro at 8:40 am and events will start at 10:00AM.

🏐Volleyball Bootcamp starts on Tuesday!
Come join Coach Mark Sullivan and others to work on your volleyball skills. Bootcamp will be held once a week for five weeks. You will work on the following skills: passing, setting, hitting, and serving. This bootcamp is meant for Hillsboro students only!
You do not need to be present at every open gym, come whenever it works with your schedule! This is a chance to work on volleyball skills at a younger age and learn to love the sport.

Eights students in Mr. Levy's classes had the opportunity to attend an Externship Day with the Wisconsin Operating Engineers Local 139 in Coloma, WI!
They learned about apprenticeships and possible career paths in this demanding field. They each had an opportunity to run a small excavator, try simulators, and tour the 400 acre facility.

On Tuesday, April 2nd, over 70 Hillsboro middle and high school students traveled to Weston high school to participate in the Little River’s Music Conference Large group Solo & Ensemble!
Six class A events earned a *1 to advance to State on Saturday, May 4th! The events moving on are: a clarinet trio (Shelby B., Kenzie K. and Ade W.), a vocal duet (Kelsi G. and Hope H.), a Senior double trio (Lauren B., Brookelyn B., Kelsi G., Hope H., Hunter L., Brooks M.), a vocal Triple Trio (Mia B., Molly C., Grace H., Sierra J., Hannah M., Abby N., Grace S., Savannah U., Paige V.) Madrigal ensemble & Show Choir. Congratulations to all who performed!
The rest of the performances will take place tomorrow, Saturday, April 6th, from 8 am - 4pm. Come out to Weston High School to support these fine musicians!
