Lions Clubs International sponsors an annual Peace Poster Contest to emphasize the importance of peace to students across the world. This year, students were asked to "Dare to Dream", and create a piece of art that highlighted how they intend to turn their dream of a more peaceful world into a reality.
On Monday, October 9th, at Hillsboro Middle School, Lila Johnson was awarded 1st place for her artwork. Hayley Berg was awarded 2nd place for her poster, and Nicole Vesbach received 3rd for her piece.
The award-winning posters were selected by a panel of judges based on their originality, artistic merit, and portrayal of the theme of peace. Artists were encouraged to use a variety of mediums in their work and apply their own personal experiences and unique vision to the project and theme.
