Seniors in Mrs. Holthe’s Real Life Economics class had guest speakers visit to tackle the often mystifying home-buying process.
Randy Seeley, an accomplished real estate agent, and Jason Schultz, an seasoned mortgage lender, presented a comprehensive overview, beginning with the initial stages of house hunting.
They explained best practices in navigating the pre-approval process, including setting a budget, and becoming familiar with the different mortgage options. They also discussed essential factors to consider when making an offer, such as property condition, location, and potential renovation needs.
The session was interactive, with seniors posing questions about everything from down payments to private mortgage insurance, ensuring students left with a better understanding of the home buying process.
