Royall Students at Reality Days

Hillsboro School District hosted its annual Reality Days this Wednesday, a striking simulation offering high school seniors a glimpse into adult finances. This year, we were also pleased to welcome seniors from Royall High School for the morning session.

The gym was transformed into a bustling marketplace where students navigated stations covering housing, cars, insurance, utilities, and more, all while managing a checkbook and attempting to stay in the black. Reality Days offers students firsthand experience on the importance of budgeting and exploring strategies for making their finances work.

A huge thank you to the dedicated individuals and organizations who volunteered their time and expertise to run the booths and make this year's event a success: Dana Grinder, Farmers State Bank, Royal Bank, Becky Hooks, Mary Jo Onsager, representatives from Hillsboro City Hall, Ben Pooley from Hofmeister Insurance, Gundersen St. Joseph's/Emplify Health, Danica Sebranek, Chief Clark, and the many supportive Hillsboro staff and administration members who made today possible.

The positive impact of Reality Days is clear, and Hillsboro High looks forward to ongoing community partnerships that empower area students with financial responsibility.
