Literacy Night

On Wednesday, elementary families and students enjoyed Literacy Night from 4:00-6:00 PM. The event aims to engage students in a love of reading, exploration of language and ideas, and reading as a way to build community.

A key focus of Wednesday's Literacy Night was to involve parents and guardians in their children's literacy journey. Author Joyce Uglow inspired children and families through a discussion of her books and writing process. Author visits are a great way of fostering a more personal connection with books. The night also provides parents with valuable insights into how their children interact with learning materials at school.

Literacy Night emphasizes the social aspects of reading, demonstrating how it can bridge gaps between diverse individuals and groups. The annual event continues to strengthen the bonds between our district families and our school.
