This past Saturday, Hillsboro freshman Max Koopman performed at the Pablo Center in Eau Claire as part of the 59th UW-Eau Claire High School Honors Band.
The event brings top student-musicians from 101 schools across Wisconsin and Minnesota together for a day of rehearsal with UW-Eau Claire music faculty. The event culminates with an evening performance. High School Honors Band members are nominated by their directors, then vetted by University of Eau-Claire faculty to determine who makes the final cut.
Max performed with a band of freshman and sophomore students under the direction of Dr. Kara Metzger, director of the UW-Eau Claire University Band and the Blugold Marching Band.
