Children in Ms. Mislivecek's kindergarten class have been learning about weather.
In their latest unit, students explored storms, wind, weather forecasts, and how to prepare for and stay safe during storms. Students also practiced describing the various characteristics of weather (wind, clouds, temperature, and precipitation) and attempted to make their own predictions.
These activities familiarize young students with scientific thinking, investigating, hypothesizing, and problem-solving. Students also created Breeze Buddies, simple windsocks made of colorful paper, as tools to help them observe the wind's strength and direction during their research.
