Congratulations to the Hillsboro High School Chess Team seniors on an outstanding performance at the 2026 State Scholastic Chess Championship! Competing in Division II Varsity, the team placed 10th overall in the state after a dynamic two-day tournament.
Hillsboro went head-to-head with some of the top chess programs in Wisconsin, competing in five matches across five rounds. Abe Scheder anchored the team in the top spot, with strong support from Hayden Bohn and Liz Cairns. Ian Anderson had an exceptional tournament, finishing undefeated over the two days! An impressive accomplishment for our players.
