Hillsboro senior Miles Ravenscroft has been awarded the 25-26 Scenic Bluff Conference Basketball Player of the Year award.

Nominated by their coaches, Player of the Year candidates are then voted on and selected by all Scenic Bluff conference coaches. Beyond his impressive statistics, his coaches recognized that Miles was a consummate leader, and the positive attitude he brought to every practice and every game made all his teammates better.

Hillsboro Varsity Head Coach Jordan Polk had these words to share, "Miles was not only the best player in the Scenic Bluffs conference this season, he is also one of the best overall players to come through Hillsboro. What sets Miles apart is that he is a premier defender who, every night, is tasked with guarding the best player on the other team. As a sophomore, this was an area he really struggled in, but he spent the offseason building himself into a better defender and came back as a junior as one of the best in the SBC. Miles' most important and unique trait is his ability to keep his teammates involved and help create open shots for them. He happily sacrifices the number of shots he would take in a game to hit his open teammates and trust them to make shots. This season, Miles was the leading scorer for the team and also set the school record for assists in a season. Why is Miles one of the best? He makes everyone around him better! The true traits of a great player, leader, and person. And Miles remains extremely humble in all his accomplishments. He has truly left his mark on this program and has been a great role model to our youth."

Congratulations to Miles on this honor, and for modeling the sportsmanship, conduct, and spirit that embody the best in high school athletics.
