March is “Music in Our Schools” month, and the Hillsboro Middle/High Music Department has been hard at work.
After performing their Spring concert, middle/high school students dove into the solo & ensemble season with a Pre-Solo & Ensemble in preparation for the District event.
District held last Saturday at Wonewoc-Center Schools. Hillsboro middle and high school students were well prepared and ready to perform. The choir department had 8 class C events, 8 class B events, and 34 class A events participate at district, with an incredible 23 choral events advancing to State Solo & Ensemble. The band department had 11 Class C events, 3 B, and 1 A. Only students performing class A events that earn a *1 rating advance to State Solo & Ensemble, which will occur on Saturday, May 2nd at UW-La Crosse. Congratulations to all student performers, and a huge thank you to our talented accompanists for helping our students achieve this commendable achievement: Jamie Berg, Karla Frederick, Lindsay O’Hair, Jory Rafel and Dory Stahlkopf.
