Students and staff clean outside of house

Yesterday, Hillsboro Middle/High students spent their morning providing public service throughout the community.

Community Cleanup Day provides much needed assistance to local families and businesses, and underscores the district's commitment to civic engagement and fostering a sense of responsibility among our students.

This year marks CCUD's seventh season, and each year there are more opportunities for students and staff to volunteer their morning in the community.

This year, students and staff were involved in a wide range of activities, including trash pickup on the trail, organizing the school's community closet, assisting with neighborhood yard work and residential cleanup, roadside cleanup, planting flowers on campus, clearing brush, removing garbage from parks, and performing various odd jobs around the school building.

The district hopes Community Cleanup Day inspires students to continue giving back, and puts the Tiger Way (Respectful, Responsible, Safe) into action while providing valuable support to our community.

Special thanks to Mrs. Gates for launching and managing this initiative.
