This week, Hillsboro fourth graders made the annual bike trip on the Hillsboro State Trail.
Fourth-grade students have been participating in an annual bike trip to Union Center for 20 years. Students and parents ride from the elementary school to the Hillsboro State Trail head and continue to Union Center. At the Union Center park, students and chaperones relax and refuel before making the trip back to Hillsboro. The trip is an excellent way to promote an active lifestyle and engage students in the outdoors.
Throughout the years, there have been bumps, bruises and bike malfunctions, but approximately 1,000 students can say they made it!
