Students in Ms. Barker's 4K classroom traveled to Jasper Apples outside Wonewoc on Thursday to learn about apple orchards.
Students learned how cider is made and tried a sample before heading to the orchard to pick their own apples. "It was a wonderful experience for our students," Ms. Barker said, "a big thanks to Rick and his hardworking crew for hosting us."
Field trips present a unique opportunity to build on children's natural curiosity and provide firsthand sensory exploration of topics they have discussed in school.
